A Big Insight From a Little Person

I recently had a lovely encounter that caused me to reconsider what it means to be human. While dining at a nearby restaurant, I saw a young boy selling matchboxes out of his backpack to help support his family. He had purchased some food for himself to eat as he was ending his day. He asked me to sit down with him at his table while I waited for a waiter.

But before I could respond, he suddenly got up and walked towards a homeless girl who was sitting on the roadside. She was given a lunch and welcomed to his table. I was deeply moved by the compassion and sensitivity he showed her.

This encounter demonstrated the strength of human compassion. It showed me that the willingness to assist and take care of others is the best attribute in a person. It restored my faith in humanity and made me realize how how beautiful we all can be.
